New Delhi, November 22, 2015: Dabur Chyawanprash, the flagship healthcare brand from the House of Dabur, today released the list of India's Most Healthy & Immune Schools. The list was unveiled by Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State of Culture & Tourism, in presence of Dabur India Ltd Chief Executive Officer Mr. Sunil Duggal and Mr. K K Chaudhary, Controller of Examinations, Central Board of Secondary Education.
Ten schools from Delhi, Eight from Uttar Pradesh, Three from Madhya Pradesh, Two from Bihar and One school from Maharashtra were awarded as the Top Performers in the list of India's Most Immune Schools. Amity International School from Ghaziabad was the winner of the Dabur Chyawanprash Immune India School Challenge 2014, while Indian Heights School, Dwarka, came Second and Scottish High International School, Gurgaon, was placed Third. The list of top 24 schools was prepared following a 5-month long joint health and hygiene check-up drive by Dabur and Max Healthcare as part of Dabur Chyawanprash's mega Immunity awareness drive -- Immune India School Challenge 2014.
The function was attended by the principals and teachers of the top schools. The Immune India campaign also sought to identify and reward 29 school children with extraordinary Immunity, selected through competitions held in schools & on the digital medium. These students - who were named Dabur Chyawanprash Immuno Champs -- were also presented awards in the function.
"Over the years, Dabur has contributed to many worthy causes -- from addressing Children's Literacy to Adult Education; from improving Healthcare Services to Skill Development; from imparting Financial Literacy & Inclusion to caring for the Environment. Dabur Chyawanprash Immune India School Challenge is one of our key initiatives to spread awareness on the Importance of Immunity. It is backed by the belief that a healthy child is a happy child. Hence, year on year, we try and cover more and more schools to spread the message of immunity far & wide," Dabur India Ltd CEO Mr. Sunil Duggal said.
As part of Dabur Chyawanprash Immune India School Challenge 2014, Dabur Chyawanprash joined hands with Max Healthcare and reached out to schools across India seeking participation for this mega initiative to identify and recognize the healthiest schools of the country. A variety of media, including direct contacts, digital and print, were used to reach out to the schools. Principals of around 3,000 schools were approached over 2 months, for enrolling their schools in the campaign and obtaining data on various parameters like attendance of the students, medical facilities available in the school, drinking water facility, basic health and hygiene standards, sanitation facilities etc. and rated accordingly. Â An immunity session was also conducted in close to 1,000 schools this year to educate children on the importance of Immunity, the vulnerability of kids to illness due to changing weather, unhealthy diet, bacteria, virus, dust & pollution and ways to boost immunity through basic hygiene & a nutritional diet.
In the second phase, a team of healthcare professionals from Max visited the shortlisted TOP 50 schools to conduct a BMI of the students from class 4 to 6 and finalise the ratings accordingly. At the end of the mammoth exercise, the team of health experts prepared the list of top Schools of India for the year 2014, amongst the participating schools.
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. K K Chutani, Executive Director-Consumer Care Business, Dabur India Ltd. said, "Today's fast-paced and highly competitive lifestyle, increasing pollution levels, epidemics like dengue, unhygienic food & water are all taking a toll on our health. A strong immune system helps protect from a host of diseases and recurring ailments. However, most of us do not have a strong immune system and hence are susceptible to diseases. This is especially true for children since their immune system is still developing and hence they can be more vulnerable. In this backdrop, Dabur Chyawanprash -- being one of the leading healthcare brands in the country - has taken up the responsibility to drive awareness on the need for immunity especially amongst children, the future of the country through the Immune India campaign."
"Recognizing the fact that schools play a paramount role in shaping a child's future since they are the primary caregivers during the formative years, our Immune India campaign has focused on schools. For the last few years through the Immune India campaign we have been reaching out to schools across the country to educate students & teachers on the need for immunity. This year we have taken the dream of an Immune India a step further with the Dabur Chyawanprash Immune India School Challenge through which Dabur Chyawanprash with our wellness partner, Max, has identified and recognized the healthiest schools," Mr. Chutani added.
