Under the aegis of Dabur Research Foundation, three renowned Ayurveda doctors/experts -- Dr. J.K. Ojha (Eminent scholar in Ayurveda and former Dean of Faculty of Ayurveda, Institute of Medical Science, Banaras Hindu University) and Dr. C. K. Katiyar (Head-Dabur Research Foundation) organised the first 'Dabur Chyawanprash Immune India awareness drive to fight Flu & Viruses', in Lucknow today. This awareness drive will be taken to different parts of the country over the coming days.
Addressing the media, Dr. C. K. Katiyar said: “The world, and India in particular, is today waking up to a wide array of diseases like Swine Flu. A lot of these new-age diseases do not have any cure in the Allopathic system of medicine. In such cases, Ayurveda provides the only hope. Ayurveda has in its fold rasayanas like Chyawanprash, which offer the best prevention from such diseases by boosting your body’s immunity. While the modern sciences are searching for an answer every time a new virus/flu emerges, Chyawanprash has been offering preventive cure for ages now.”

“Boosting immunity – your body’s internal defense system – is the best way to fight flu and viruses. Ayurveda recommends a number of herbs like Amla & Giloy to boost immunity, and Chyawanprash contains all these potent ingredients and over 40 other natural ingredients in a time-tested formulation. The other herbs used in Chyawanprash also play important role in restoration of health and improved bodily functions and help to keep us free from opportunistic infections,” said Dr. Katiyar.

Clinical Studies conducted on Dabur Chyawanprash in patients of allergic cough have reported decrease in IgE levels, a biomarker of allergy, he added. “If you agree that prevention is better than cure, then include Rasayanas like Chyawanprash in your daily routine. This will make you fit to fight and win external battles, rather than worrying about how to protect your body against rapid attacks of viruses and flu.”

Also present at the session, Dr. J. K. Ojha said: “A weak immune system leaves the body vulnerable to virtually every type of illness and disease, especially when there is a seasonal shift from warm summers to cold winters. Properly feeding your immune system can boost its power to fight those pesky viral diseases that affect one’s health. One should ensure intake of immune boosting foods like amla, Ashwgandha, Giloi & Tulsi etc. Chyawanprash is also one of the best food supplement options for building strong immunity. Amla, a major ingredient of Chyawanprash, is well known for its antioxidant properties. This action has been proved by various scientific studies as well. Another prominent herb present in Chyawanprash is Guduchi (Giloy), which is Well researched by various scientists for immune-modulator properties.”

Chyawanprash, Dr. Ojha said, is also useful in cough and respiratory disorders, weakness and debility. It is also used as Memory enhancer, Intellect promoting and to strengthen body functions.
