- Selected from over 10 lakh school kids across India
- To join Dhoni in spreading awareness about building Immunity
Lucknow, July 13, 2010: Three school kids from Uttar Pradesh – Sudeeksha Sharma (Lucknow), Vaishnavi Mishra (Kanpur) and Ankit Yadav (Varanasi)– have been selected to be part of Dabur Chyawanprash and Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Immune India Team. The three UP kids will join 22 others from rest of India in a novel initiative to spread awareness about building stronger immunity to fight the rising incidence of flu and viruses in the country.
The selection of the 24 Immunity Ambassadors marks the culmination of the nationwide Immune India school-level awareness drive rolled out across nine states – Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Punjab, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. These 24 schoolchildren were selected from over 10 lakh kids across 820 schools India as part of the Immune India campaign held by Dabur Chyawanprash.
“Today’s fast-paced lifestyle, our errant eating habits and now Monsoons are all taking a toll on our health. The best way to prevent ourselves from a host of lifestyle diseases and recurring ailments is by building a stronger immunity. A recent national survey pointed out that 85% doctors feel that building stronger immunity is the best possible preventive measure against virus attacks. In order to further spread the message of good health and immunity across the country, Dabur Chyawanprash and its brand ambassador Mahendra Singh Dhoni have identified 24 schoolchildren who will form a team of India’s Immunity Ambassadors. “The idea of this initiative was to educate children about the need for building stronger immunity to stay healthy and thus stay ahead. The immunity ambassadors will spread the message about the need to boost immunity. The selected 24 Dabur Chyawanprash Immunity Ambassadors have got a chance to meet and interact with their icon Mahendra Singh Dhoni and learn his health secrets,” Mr. Yadav added.
The 24 winners also spent a day with their favourite cricketer MS Dhoni today, seeking tips on health management, immunity building and fighting fatigue. Addressing the kids, Mahendra Singh Dhoni said: “Being cricketers, we travel a lot and experience a lot of climate changes. If your immunity system is not strong, you tend to fall ill and suffer from ailments like cough, cold, fever etc. But if your immunity is strong, you will not suffer any of these ailments. So, it’s extremely important to build your immunity, and Dabur Chyawanprash is a good supplement to boost your body’s immunity. I am happy that these kids will take this immunity message across India.”
