Dry Skin

Home remedies

Indian Ayurveda describes Dry skin as a predomonant trait of Vata constitution. Even in normal people, Vata causes dryness of the skin when it is vitiated due to seasonal influences. This dryness may even extend to the mucous membranes covering the lips and thus cause cracking. Dryness of the skin and the mucous membranes is also caused by certain illnesses like fever. Ingredients for Dry Skin

Glycerin

Glycerin is an extremely well-tolerated, safe, and common ingredient in moisturizers, especially in more sensitive skin types such as eczema or rosacea

Clarified Butter

Clarified butter helps lubricate the inside of the intestines. It contains butyrate acid, a fatty acid with anti-inflammatory effects that may help with digestion.

Vegetable oil

Vegetable oil contains linoleic acid that creates a protective layer on your skin surface and keeps it moisturized. Also, it prevents skin damage done by chemicals, like uric acid.

Milk cream

Milk cream — also called malai — is a type of clotted cream commonly used in India, both in cooking and in skin care and hair care. It can hydrate dehydrated skin, even skin tone, brighten complexion, and improve skin elasticity.

Common Recipes:

An oil massage is a simple yet well-known remedy to treat dry skin. For better results, you may add a few drops of glycerine to the oil just before application.

Clarified butter or milk cream are good for cracked lips. Apply them for a couple of days just before going to bed.
