New Delhi, November 15, 2013: Dabur India Ltd., the country's leading natural personal care company, today announced the next big innovation in the world of Hair Care with the launch of a new range of shampoo and hair oil fortified with the goodness of Hibiscus, under the brand Vatika. The new products are: Vatika Enriched Coconut oil with Hibiscus and Vatika Premium Naturals Shampoo with Hibiscus, Reetha and Olive Conditioning.
This is the first-ever range of hair care products in India that have been enriched with Hibiscus, traditionally known to be effective in combating hair loss and dandruff. Cine star Kajal Agarwal would be endorsing the new variant of Vatika Premium Naturals shampoo, while southern cine star Samantha Prabhu has been signed as the face of the new Vatika Enriched Coconut hair oil with Hibiscus.
Announcing the launch, Mr. Ajay Motwani, Head of Marketing –Vatika Hair Care, Dabur India Ltd. said: "Today's woman is living life queen size. She is multi-tasking like never before, juggling career and home, while being well groomed 24x7. She is trying different hair looks/hairstyles to suit the occasion…. the no-nonsense tied hair look at home and office; and the beautiful, open hair look for social occasions. She is experimenting with different hair care products and processes like hair colours, rebonding, straightening etc, placing intense demands on her hair. This is leading to multiple hair problems, like Hairfall, Damage, dry/rough hair, thin hair, split ends, etc. To address these multiple hair problems, Dabur has launched this new range of hair care products under Vatika which are enriched with the goodness of Hibiscus."
"The new Vatika Enriched Coconut oil with Hibiscus makes the goodness of coconut oil even better by enriching it with the goodness of Hibiscus. Hibiscus is a flower proven to offer excellent nourishment, fight hairfall and maintain natural colour of hair. It has been used since ages by women in their hair care routine, in their quest for strong, black hair. While Hibiscus and Reetha in the new Vatika Premium Naturals Shampoo help nourish, strengthen and cleanse hair of dirt and grime, Olive in the shampoo conditions hair naturally from within to give it silky, smooth, shiny feel," Mr. Motwani added. Vatika Premium Naturals Shampoo with Hibiscus has been customized specially for the Andhra Pradesh market.
Vatika Enriched Coconut oil with Hibiscus has been proven to make hair 2 Times stronger, thus providing 50% extra Hairfall control in a study by an independent agency giving consumers stronger and nourished hair. Vatika Enriched Coconut oil with Hibiscus is available in two SKUs of 150ml (introductory price of Rs 55) & 300ml (introductory price of Rs 110). It would initially be available in the key South geographies of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, while Vatika Premium Naturals Shampoo with Hibiscus, Reetha and Olive would initially be piloted in Andhra Pradesh. Vatika Premium Naturals Shampoo with Hibiscus is available in two SKUs of 80ml (Plus 25% extra) for Rs 62 and in a 8ml sachet for Rs 2.
"Vatika Enriched Coconut Oil with Hibiscus is the first line extension of the iconic Vatika brand in hair oils- we expect it to significantly strengthen our share in the 'hair oils' category. The 'Intensive hairfall control' sub-segment is showing strong growth and we seek to carve out a sizeable share in this pie with our new offering. Our shampoo portfolio has been growing significantly ahead of the category in the last few quarters- We expect Vatika Premium Naturals Shampoo with Hibiscus, Reetha and Olive Conditioning to further enhance our share in the 'shampoos' category," Mr Motwani said.
