Dabur Chyawanprash Builds Stronger & More Immune

Patna, March 16, 2011: ‘Heart of India lies in the Villages’ goes an old saying.Incidence of illnesses is high in rural India, but the lack of awareness about the need for building stronger immunity is equally high in the hinterland. To spread this awareness, Dabur Chyawanprash, the flagship health supplements brand from the House of Dabur, today identified 30 citizens from villages of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh to form Dabur Chyawanprash and super star Ravi Kishan’s team of Immunity Ambassadors. These Immunity Ambassadors – chosen after a 135-day mega campaign Dabur Chyawanprash Swasthya Chetna Abhiyan across the two states – will be part of a novel initiative to spread awareness about building stronger immunity to fight the rising incidence of flu, viral attacks, infections in their respective villages and districts. It is an extension of Dabur Chyawanprash’s national initiative ‘Immune India’ started in 2009 in which 10 lakh plus students were educated about need for immunity in 1,000 schools across the country.

 

The 30 Dabur Chyawanprash Immunity Ambassadors include 17 people from rural Bihar. Addressing the team of Immunity Ambassadors, Dabur Chyawanprash brand ambassador Ravi Kishan said, “Being a cine star, I have to travel a lot and experience a lot of climate changes. The team was selected through Dabur Chyawanprash Swasthya Chetna Abhiyan – a rural health awareness drive rolled out across 270 villages and 135 haats of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, covering 9 districts. These 30 rural citizens were selected from over 6 lakh participants across 180 villages in Bihar and 90 villages in Uttar Pradesh. The programme covered 6 ditricts of Bihar - Purba Champaran, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Samasthipur, Bhojpur Patna -- and 2 districts of Uttar Pradesh – Gorakhpur and Varanasi. Swasthya Chetna Abhiyan is part of Dabur Chyawanprash’s national initiative Immune India, which was started last year.
