Guwahati, October 28, 2010: Glamour, glitz & girls with a dash of Dabur Gulabari! Yes, the moment finally arrived with Dabur India Ltd. hosting the Grand Finale of the second edition of its biggest beauty initiative in Northeast -- Dabur Gulabari Miss Fresh Face of Northeast 2010. After three grueling rounds at the grand finale, Bhanita Mahanta from Guwahati was adjudged as the winner and walked away with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a one-year modeling contract with Dabur Gulabari.
Hannah Partin from Arunachal Pradesh was adjudged the First Runner-Up and got a cash prize of Rs 30,000, while Rajkanya Baruah from Guwahati was the Second Runner-Up and took home a cash award of Rs 20,000. The contest had received an overwhelming response with close to 1,000 entries from across Northeast. After several rounds of screening and the audition held at Guwahati on 20th of October, 20 finalists were chosen to be groomed over the week by experts to make them ready for the grand finale held yesterday at the ITA auditorium, Machkhowa, Guwahati. The winner and the 2 runners up today interacted with media and shared their experiences and their success story.
The Grand Finale of Dabur Gulabari Miss Fresh Face of Northeast 2010 was judged by an independent jury, which included Assamese cinestar Barnali Pujari, popular singer from Assamese film industry Anirban Das, celebrity bueaty expert Papori Dutta, fashion designer Payal Chadha and industrialist Dr Pramod Sarmah. This pageant has been organized to discover the fresh new face from the state, a face that embodies the core values of Dabur Gulabari - soft, fresh skin that glows like a Rose.

After one-month long auditions, we have selected 20 very promising, confident, bright and very talented girls who personify the values of Dabur Gulabari. The Grand Finale saw the 20 charismatic young girls dazzling the ramp showcasing a variety of dresses which included a blend of western and ethnic wears, followed by a Question-Answer session with the judges. Each of the contestants vied with each other for the coveted crown. “This initiative was also a unique way of spreading awareness among the beauty conscious women Northeast, especially the young college-going girls. Hence, we had also organized in-depth grooming session for the finalists to educate them on various aspects of beauty and skin care, communications skills, ramp walking & personal grooming,” Mr. Borah said.
