Environment Policy
Dabur recognizes the critical role the organization plays in promoting a healthy and sustainable environment. We are devoted to developing environmentally responsible products based on a rigorous scientific foundation, while meeting customers' expectations for superior quality, performance and safety.
Dabur adheres to all relevant environmental laws and regulations, as we believe that this is the fundamental way to achieve sustainable and profitable growth.
Dabur is dedicated to continually enhancing the governance of its environmental impact. We collaborate with stakeholders across our extended value chain others to advance environmental stewardship, enhance awareness of environmental challenges and to share best practices with other businesses.
Dabur is, therefore, fully committed and aims to:
- Develop, implement, and monitor environmental management systems throughout the organization to ensure compliance with company standards and statutory obligations.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance and continual improvement, in line with accepted international standards.
- Assess the environmental impacts of all its operations and establish measurable goals and targets for continual improvement, which are periodically reviewed at unit and corporate levels. Dabur shall also regularly monitor, measure, and transparently report its environmental performance and progress against these established goals.
- Reduce environmental impact by promoting principles of Reduce, Reuse and Recycling across operational & food waste, water, and energy. Provide personnel at all levels with clearly defined roles and responsibilities, communication systems, trainings, participation, consultation opportunities, and review mechanisms to encourage employee engagement and involvement in reducing environmental impact.
- Provide appropriate, meaningful & effective training and awareness programs to ensure employees and stakeholders understand their responsibilities and obligations.
- Comply with applicable environmental laws, regulations and other requirements.
- Promote a culture of environmental excellence by innovating, creating knowledge-sharing platforms and regularly reviewing and measuring our environmental performance against industry standards by adhering to environmentally safe criteria that are scientifically viable and widely accepted.
- Encourage and collaborate with value chain partners including suppliers and supply chain partners to develop and implement ecologically superior methods and ingredients to enhance overall environmental performance.
- Engage in environmental and water stewardship including water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) projects with public and private entities such as governments, non-governmental organizations, other enterprises, and local communities.
- Encourage the development of industrial methods that are naturally safer and cleaner in order to continue to raise the bar on environmental performance.
- Proactively engage and consult with relevant stakeholders for identification and implementation of environmental programs.
This policy applies to all Dabur employees and workers including trainees, part-time and contractual workforce across our business units, entities we own and entities in which we own a majority interest. Dabur encourages our partners to show the commitments stated in this Policy in situations where Dabur does not have operational control.
Responsibility, Accountability and Governance
Respective functional heads are responsible for implementation of policy, in consultation with corporate environment and other teams.
All MANCOM members are accountable for implementing this Policy within their respective areas of operation. They must ensure that adequate resources, systems, and competencies are in place to meet required standards and ensure ongoing compliance.
The Board of Directors has ultimate oversight of this policy and periodically reviews performance, monitors progress against agreed upon targets, and ensures effective implementation across all operations.
