Preparation Time:

Cooking Time:

Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 425 grams drained can of Tuna
  • 2 cups penne pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium sized onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon Dabur Homemade Garlic Paste
  • ½ cup parsley (chopped)
  • 5 thyme springs (chopped)
  • 2 chilies(finely chopped)
  • Two 400 grams can of tomato
  • 200 grams Tomato Puree
  • 2 lemons, squeezed
  • ¼ cups baby capers
  • 1 tablespoon thickened cream
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • Salt as per taste
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Method:

Before starting to prepare the dish, put on the oven and preheat it at 180°C. It is necessary to let the dish bake evenly and at the correct temperature

  • Now take a pan and add oil to it. Let the oil heat on low flame Once the oil has heated, add Dabur Homemade Garlic Paste and let it saute for a minute
  • Now add diced onion to the pan and stir well
  • Once the onions turn translucent add the drained Tuna and mix
  • Let the Tuna cook for a minute in the oil before adding parsley, thyme and chili
  • Leave the mix to fry in the oil for a couple of minutes and then add capers to it. Occasionally stir the mix to avoid it from sticking to the bottom of the pan After 2 minutes, add canned tomatoes, tomato puree, salt and pepper and mix till all the ingredients have come together and a gleaming red thick paste starts to bubble in the pan
  • Now, add ¼ cup of water and freshly squeezed lime juice & fresh cream and stir
  • Now, leave the mix to simmer on the stove for at least 5 minutes on low flame
  • Once done, take it off the heat and keep it aside

  • Pasta Preparation:

  • In a deep-dish pan, add at least 7-8 cups of water and 2-3 tablespoons of salt
  • Let the water come to a boil
  • Now add pasta (in this case we are recommending the use of Penne but you can choose to cook with any pasta of your choice) and let it boil in the water for 6-7 minutes or as per the instructions on the packet
  • Stir it occasionally to check for the consistency of the pasta and also to make sure it does not stick to the bottom of the pan While the pasta is boiling, you can also add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the pan as it prevents the pasta from sticking to each other once you drain it out of the pan
  • Cook till its al dente and drain it in a sieve

Preparing to Bake Chili Tomato Tuna Bake:

  • Take a baking dish and layer pasta at the bottom of the dish
  • Pour the chili tomato tuna mix on top of the pasta
  • Sprinkle fresh thyme, chilies and pepper on top and top it with grated cheese
  • Put the dish in the preheated oven for 10 minutes or till the time the cheese has melted and turned golden brown on the top
  • Serve hot!

Serving tips:

You can serve the dish with a fresh salad of lettuce and cucumber along with dinner buns or garlic bread
